The Basics
Is The Hideout BYOB?
Yes — you’re welcome to bring your own alcohol and food for your event. The bar does not have a bartender; it is a DIY drink station or an opportunity to hire your own bartender.
We do not provide catering or bartending services, giving you the flexibility to celebrate your own way. We do not have a liquor license so the sale of alcohol is prohibited. We do have BYOB insurance where guests can either provide alcohol for free or have guests BYOB. All guests that partake in alcohol must me at least 21 years of age.
Can we bring our own food or catering?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your own food, snacks, desserts, or catering. We have a Kitchenette with a large counter for food and a fridge. We also have a second fridge at the Bar, so no need to bring coolers or ice! You must provide your own plates, cups, utensils, napkins for the food as well. We have a microwave that can be brought out upon request.
How many people fit?
The Hideout is best suited for groups of up to 70 guests depending on the type of event and setup. We have three group sizes: Small (up to 10), Medium (up to 40), and Large (up to 70).
What types of events work well at The Hideout?
The Hideout is great for birthdays, game nights, graduation parties, team outings, celebrations, networking events, and casual corporate gatherings.
Is the venue private?
Yes — your booking is completely private. Only your group will have access to the entire space during your reserved time including all three floors, free game play, and use of the bar and kitchen.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes — there are several parking garages and lots within walking distance of the venue, along with street parking nearby when available.
We recommend AutoPark and the Fashion District, which is just down 10th Street. For evening parties, guests should take advantage of the $10 pricing from 5pm-3am.
Is there music?
Yes — The Hideout has a built-in sound system that you can connect to using your phone, tablet, or laptop.
Can I decorate?
Yes — decorations are welcome. We just ask that you avoid things like glitter, confetti, party poppers, or anything that may damage the space. Wall-safe tape is required (we often have some to share).
Please provide us complete details about your party plans including decorations. Appropriate decorations include table centerpieces, wall hangings, balloons, balloon arches, backdrops, and streamers.
What games and activities are included?
Your booking includes access to all three floors of free game-play and lounge areas, including pool, darts, foosball, and arcade games.
Is The Hideout open to the public?
No — The Hideout is a private event venue available by reservation only.
Where is The Hideout located?
The Hideout is located in Philadelphia’s Chinatown neighborhood at 931 Arch Street, just steps from Center City and the Convention Center.
What are the hours the space is available for rental?
The Hideout is available every day between 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM.
Booking & Availability
Can we hire a bartender or caterer?
Yes, you can staff your own party if you would like. Please provide us with the details before your booking. The space is flexible to accommodate all types of celebrations.
How far in advance can I book?
The sooner you book, the better. If you are booking last minute, please allow at least 5 days in advance, but nothing is guaranteed until the payment is processed and the contract is signed.
Are kids allowed?
Yes, kids are allowed; however there must be more adults than children present. This is an adult space.
Do you do kid parties?
No, while kids are allowed here, this is an adult space. Please no parties for kids under 13.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, there is a $40/pet fee with a maximum of 3 dogs.
Is there a smoking area?
No, smoking and vaping are not allowed on the premises and will result in a $200 fine. Guests can go outside to the street to smoke.
Do you allow same-day bookings?
No, please contact us at least 5 days before your event.
Can I change my date or time after booking?
Yes, but please do this 7 days before your booking. You may only change to an available date.
Can I extend my booking while the event is happening if we want to stay longer?
Text us and request this. If more time is available and we are able to process payment before the end of your booking, it is possible.
Can I book multiple dates for recurring events?
Yes. Contact us to book and figure out details.
Pricing, Fees & Deposits
What’s included in the rental price?
The space includes free play of a pool table, foosball table, 2 dart boards, and 2 arcade games (a 2-player multi-cade with 5000 games and Carnival King, a one-player shooting game). You can use the Kitchenette and Bar as you please, each of which feature a refrigerator to keep your refreshments cool and easy to grab. Your guests have full use of the space to yourselves. There are Sonos speakers in each room that you can connect to using the Wi-Fi.
How does the Security Deposit work and when is it refunded?
We take a Security Deposit along with your Booking Fee. It will be fully refunded up to 48 hours after your booking.
What happens if something gets damaged during my event?
We understand that accidents can happen. If anything is damaged, please text us right away with a brief description and photos if possible.
Minor damages may be covered by your Security Deposit. If repair or replacement costs exceed the deposit, we’ll send an invoice for the remaining balance.
Can I split payment between multiple people?
No, payment must come from a single source. The person paying may be a different person than the main point of contact.
Rescheduling
In the event you reschedule your event, you may do so for free up to 7 days before your event. If it is under 3 days before your event, you will be charged $100 rescheduling fee.
Cancellations
In the event you cancel your event, you will be refunded in the following schedule. ​​​​

Same Day Cancellation - 50% Refund

1-7 Days Before the Event - 75% Refund

7-14 Days Before the Event - 85% Refund

14+ days Before the Event - 100% Refund

In the event that the Hideout is not operable and we are the reason for cancellation, your booking will be rescheduled or 100% refunded.
